Big Yellow -- I mean Pink -- Taxi...


GULF NEWS is reporting that Dubai will soon have a small fleet of "pink taxis" catering especially to women:
"The taxis will have pink roofs, pink seats and interiors, and other features to give the vehicles a feminine touch. We will roll out pink taxis with at least 50 cars in a few months," said Ammar Bin Tamim, Director of the Dubai Taxi Department at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
And here I was thinking pink cars only had their place amongst Pimps and Elvis impersonators...

    So... You mean they're pointing out which cars have ONLY females in them, so the guys who believe following girls on the roads is the best pick up, know exactly which taxi to follow, from miles off?

    You got it tainted, it's cheaper to do than a big sign that says "Follow me, I have women on board".

    You gotta wonder about the thinking of the 'planners'.

    By the way ladies, is it really true that you're all terminally attracted to pink? Does that really "give the vehicles a feminine touch"?

    One more thing...will it attract the 'pink dollar'?

    I wonder whether our authorities know that pink is now internationally associated with a group of people whose preferences would be considered inconsistent with the religious, cultural, political and moral values of the United Arab Emirates.

    nick - to qualify the taxis as truly pink, I think that there ought to be a mirror ball hanging from the rearview mirror as well as the feathers! lol

    The ashtrays are miniature vanity cases..
    The cigarette lighter is a giant lipstick...
    All pink taxis smell of a combination of 3 or more perfumes.
    And one giant 1000W halogen lamp at the back to flash off all offenders...
