No more 'maids' in Dubai

What a great example of the pretentiousness of so many expats in Dubai.

From today's front page 'story' in 7Days, a family refers to their maid as..."our lovely Filipino resident house assistant."

I fell off my chair when I read it.

    Well, if it means they treat her like a professional worker, so much the better.

    There is a difference in mentality over seeing someone as a "servant" and seeing someone as an "employee".

    Hmm thats like the guys picking cotton on the plantation(s) (circa. ~1860) being called, fiber collection specialists.
