Even though I agree with the comments above that the design is fugly ! At least its not a copy of other pre-existing buildings around the world, a generic design or idiotic like the Burj Al Arabi, (The dish-dash man tower that Nakheel dissed).
Give the designers credit for being innovative.

I know the anti-new-developments sentiments are high here.. but you gotta give them originality. That's actually pretty cool and I hope it does go through.
This article is nowhere in the printed version of the newspaper. 1/2/2007 was full of congratulatory pages for winning the Gulf Cup. I suspect that the editors decided it wasn't worth printing and simply put it up on the website.
