  6. Thousands evacuated as earthquake hits Dubai

The quake's epicentre was in southern Iran, about 316km from Abu Dhabi, but strong tremors were felt in the UAE and evacuation plans were put into place along Sheikh Zayed Road, including the Dubai International Financial Centre and Emirates Towers.

  18. Exactly that time. I felt a shake, same kind as last time Iran quake sent a vibration towards the UAE.

My windbells started chiming. I thought it was the construction.

It is a sad, sad thing. All hopes and prayers to anyone who's affected.

  22. well Bujassem, the direct reasons are the movements and collisions of the tectonic plates on the crust of our earth. As for anything beyond that, I usually try to keep my speculations to myself. :P
