  6. not another one! people in uae got nothing more to be concerned about other than these elections. i mean cmon, dubai eye is hoping to get in touch with obama's dress designer tomorrow! yipee... maybe we can also get in touch with his tailor, his plumber and the nanny of his elder daughter's best friend... after all it would be great to know every little detail abt the man who will very likely sign off the next big goody packet to israel!

love the hypocrisy in this region :) Hate Israel yet be overly obsessed with the next guy who will suck up to it :)

  8. Both the leaders are good or bad only for its citizens and /or country. I don't think either will bring a change in the country's foreign policy.

  14. I'm just glad it's over. Can we get back to dealing with the global financial crisis? It's kind of a big deal.

  15. Me too! All that late howling on the streets, not an ounce of sleep!! Financial crisis eh? Loan out taxpayer monies to bank sharks, who'd loan it back to taxpayers for interest/profit? People need to learn and live within their means. This is what you get for believing that unchecked capitalism is positive. Like everything, capitalism in general, and the Wall Street leaches in particular, need REAL controls/oversight - not custom-suited foxes running the hen house.

"This is what you get for believing that unchecked capitalism is positive."

Wonder what Nick would say to that?

Perhaps a form of socialism could be the answer. Just what they are doing now under different names!

    Hi
I am a student in the university in al ain. I will do a presentation about a multicultural UAE. I chose this topic because I want to make people here especially locals aware of the multicultural society they are living in and I want all of us to respect others more so that we can live here, in the UAE happier.

It would be great if you can give me some ideas to do this presentation. I also have some questions for you.
-What do you like about local people?
-What don’t you understand about them?
-Do you have any problems with people from different cultures that arise from language, cultural and religious differences?
-Do you have any funny situations created from the difference in cultures or languages?
Please mail me your answers to reefuns@hotmail.com
Or simply post them on you blog I will come to check.
    Thank you in advance

    Anusorn 

  22. Regarding the emptying of tankers illegally, I 'caught' 2 emptying their load straight into the desert near the Bypass road (Silicon Oasis area), they scarpered when they saw me, but the deed had already been done. No one else on the road seemed interested or wanted to stop and enquire. The entire area stinks, and I am sure that what I witnessed happens daily, but there are no reps from the Municipality around.

  23. how aweful.. is there an awareness?

  24. omg cg! can't believe that! isn't silicon oasis some sort of part bird sanctuary or something?
