Breaking News in the Marina

Bomb blast at parking lot of Marina Walk near Spinneys... this is the report I'm getting right now from a friend in the vicinity--but not at the scene. Can anyone corroborate?

I think I need Twitter : ).

EDIT by samuraisam: No bomb blast. Was just a rumor.

    Sorry but to post this is so irresponsible.

    Surely a blog is for reporting facts or opinions?

    Why not twit as opposed to thinking u should?

    C'mon BD, Dubai has the world's most active rumour mill! Shindagah Tunnel is collapsing, the Trade Centre is falling over, Burj Al Arab is tilting, thousands of cars abandoned at the airport, hundreds of Brits are living in their cars or in the desert, Abu Dhabi is buying all Dubai's assets, there's a bomb at Marina Walk...

    I was in Spinneys Marina Walk fifteen minutes ago and it's all perfectly normal.

    ABIT, the central bank buying $10 billion of Dubai bonds is not the same as AD government buying Emirates and Emaar!

    Instead of posting rumors, I think we need this site to be a place to debunk them. I'm sick and tired of hearing 'the Burj Dubai is sinking', 'there's a bomb in [insert random place in Dubai]' etc etc.
