Dubai Water Bucket Walk by DubaiCares



Have you always wanted to do something for a noble cause, but are not quite sure where to go or what to do? Well Dubai Cares has the perfect opportunity for you! To commemorate the United Nations’ Universal Children’s day, Dubai Cares is inviting the UAE community to participate in a Water Bucket Walk, in support of children globally who do not have access to clean drinking water in schools. Dubai Cares welcomes the participation of individuals, families, schools, corporations, government bodies, social, ethnic and religious clubs and all other entities to participate in the Water Bucket Walk.

    I mean no disrespect or contempt towards you. So, please do not take my following lines personally. Thank you. I rather appreciate your initiative in terms of a reminder to myself to spare a few dimes for the needy.

    You know, this whole world of ours would be a great place if we people actually cared about each other all the time instead of in short bursts every now and then.

    And that includes sham organizations and their cookie jars, which I'd sum up as nothing but daylight robbery without pointing a weapon at the crowd. And no, it's got nothing to do with sparing 120 Dirhams (our family of 4) but the way people are taken for a ride by such organizations.

    As for me, I'd rather do this on a straightforward individual level through a non-profit charity, bar involvement of a state-sponsored organization.

    Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll take a raincheck on this occasion!

    to each their own. i have looked into it. indeed a good cause, but then again i do understand kyle's point as well. everyone has their priorities
