Kuwait tent fire deliberate?

AFP have put out a report, quoting the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas, saying the terrible wedding tent fire was started deliberately. Forty-three women and children died in the fire.

Fire off Dubai Port

A fire broke out off Dubai Port:

"Local authorities have extinguished the fire that damaged an oil tanker after it collided with a container vessel off the coast of Jebel Ali Port, according to Sarah Lockie, the spokesperson for DP World.

The oil tanker, called Kashmir, was carrying around 30,000 tonnes of petroleum products worth $9 million (Dh33.12 million) from Iran to the Jebel Ali Port when it collided with a mid-sized container feeder vessel around 12:20pm on Tuesday. The incident occurred five miles out in the sea.

Authorities did not mention the cause of the incident."

The Fire @ Sharjah Port

Well, I was too sleepy to take a snap when the fire was raging, but here's one snapped at 8:30 am



It was pretty fearsome at its peak.

Jebel Ali Fire

Somewhere between ca. 12.30 and 1.15pm today, there was a fire in the Jebel Ali area (behind Jebel Ali Village) that lasted no more than about 10 minutes, the smoke quite heavy.

Anybody have any news/details on this?

Fire in the Marina

Around 7:00 PM today, I saw big clouds of smoke bellowing out of the general area of Dubai Marina.

Has there been another fire?! Does anybody have any information on it? There was nothing on the City 7 Dubai News, nothing on Google News as of now. Did anybody else see it?

There's a large fire burning over in Sanaiya in Al Ain. Anyone have any more info or pictures?

Fire on the Palm Jumeriah

Not a nice present for those new residents on the Palm. The Gulf News is reporting it here and also a thread on the Skyscraper City forums here. I really hope there are no casualties.

Fire in Qusais

A traditional house in qusais was set on fire tonight and is now probably totally uninhabitable due to the powerful explosions that shook it.
