LOL! You never know!

Ok this is reaaaaly old.. when the first time Salik was announced, they had these same stickers.. and lot of blogs have already discussed this womans make up and finger. Keep up

This poor lady - I long to give her a makeover. She has quite a pleasant face, even features, what appears to be quite good skin, but her make up is abysmal. And it is sad that there are people all around her who probably snigger about it behind her back.

And this is not a cultural thing: I am aware Arab women tend to wear far more make-up than their western counterparts, but this is not the way to do it.

This appeared in CG's blog few weeks ago. The finger, make up, shaved eye brows, drag queen look; you name it - was said then!

But the finger stands out!

GOD her make-up is awful! Whats up with the Arab world and over done make-up.

Yes I did write about it/her.

'oh my God, What's wrong with you people?'

Here we go, PR school drop out aka Moral Police resurfaces with an on-off case of laryngitis.

What's wrong with you or do you not see what every one else sees?

Doesn't she look like the CEO of Traffic and Roads on this org chart? http://www.rta.gov.ae/orgchartapr22.htm

B.D. said...

^^ I think it is, in deed, and I think her name is Maitha. That would explain why she got to be the one to hold up the Salik card, not realizing what else people would be looking at. I never intended (as the author of this post) that her make-up job should get all the attention, I was just curious about the fact that her finger placement, however, inadvertant, seemed to speak what we all think about the whole Saliik card plan. I'm sure at the end of the day it was just a bad "make-up day", bad camera angle for Maitha. She is probably a lovely CEO in person.

i think she looks cool.. while that is not how i like my women to look - i reckon you can tell that she likes how she looks..

no, actually the message is not so sublime:
She says: "If you don't like the road toll then fuck off to where you came from!"

Why is it that women in the Gulf nations like to wear something around their heads but not cover anything? Does that really make any sense? I say women in the Gulf have the worst fashion and make-up style in da WORLD! In America we would call them FOB's (fresh off the boat)

Fresh of the goat sounds better

"In America we would call them FOB's (fresh off the boat)"

Ummm horrible fashion sense as opposed to whom? Britney Spears or all those ghetto jewelry dressed women (you know huge asses and fake gold & diamond earrings and rings that say "Serena" on them) - you find just about anywhere in America?

Don’t generalize my man, horrible fashion sense exists everywhere.

You sound like someone who has been a "FOB" in America, and desperately trying to shrug it off while in Dubai.

rosh said...

.....and yes the lady in the picture needs a surprise "makeover" session pronto!

BD - did you have to simultaneously name (and shame) the poor woman :)

Anonymous said...

Why do you call it spam?
Three different unique messages couldn't be called spam.
They were more like:
Jam Your Buddy Sam

I was hoping by naming her we would realize she is a real person and get off her case.

Somebody shrunk the image, which is just as well. I was getting tired of seeing it myself everytime I opened the site.

Harsha said...

Again, when the road toll was announced and when her picture appeared in the papers earlier.. So was her name.. along with her designation.

Anonymous said...

So anybody here gonna ask her out on a date ?

I'll pass....

rosh said...

Si si I am aware of her (whole) name was published in the papers when this article came out. My comment was in humour - you know "naming & shaming" in the name of fashion sense (like we at times have for road traffic sense)?

Its a shame how people of this respected community have slipped down to this low level of discussion. Instead of discussing the the real issue here being the RTA toll, u r degrading this lady because of the way she looked, or the make up she wore. And by the way, the way she is pointing her finger may mean nothing in so many other cultural contexts; so get out of ur nutt shells u super human race.

Anonymous said...

She's actually a very nice person too.
