Metroblogging

Aight, so this is the UAE community blog. But how bout we start a metro blog too :D

metroblogging.com.

I've always wanted to see Dubai on that site.

They need seven (7) active bloggers, but they said even five to six (5-6) would do!

If your game you can register at http://www.metroblogging.com/apply.phtml. You'll have to enter the city as Dubai, coz its not listed up as yet, for obvious reasons!

Me and secretdubai are already registered. We need three more of you!

Its hardly any extra wprk anyway. everytime you make a dubai based post on ur own blog, just copy paste it there too. =)

thats what i was hoping for, people whod be willing to post, i mean most of u write dubai based entries time to time, u can post the same on the metblog too. =)

Great - I applied to the site and got an approval, so they must be ready to start a Dubai section. I just have to reply now. I hope we can cross-post some stuff as well, because writing twice as much stuff might not work out, and I don't want to let my current blog dwindle away as it were.

Actually - I've been in email correspondence with the guy who runs it - and they really don't want cut and paste stuff or cross-posting, they want original content. They are quite specific about this:

The reason for this is we're trying to build a local utility with the sites - all the contributors contributing content as well as readership. If the people who read your blog are already getting your posts on your site there's not much reason for them to click through and read the metblog. This is why we ask for exclusive content and no cross posting.

That reason is fair enough, but of course it will make it trickier for busier people to commit, as they also want people to post at least a few times a week.

So do sign up, but only if you can manage the above ;)
