AFP have put out a report, quoting the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas, saying the terrible wedding tent fire was started deliberately. Forty-three women and children died in the fire.
I read the report in Sydney Morning Herald here.

"Kuwaiti law does not allow the execution of the insane".
This is why these tents were banned in Abu Dhabi. Of course, if you are going to ban them, you need to provide other venues. which they did in the UAE. There are 4 venues that only cater to weddings in Abu Dhabi alone, not counting all the hotels that you can have it at.
The Brigadier General in charge of the police there stated he wanted that their fire dept had wanted those tents banned ages ago, but the powers that be never listened.
I bet they will now.
Very sad. I wonder if the bride died.
Horrible.
Envy & Wrath; a timeless crime of the heart.
hell hath no fury...
i feel bad for the woman who started the fire. im certain this wasnt the end she was hoping for...
This horrible and heinous crime was committed by one who is certifiably insane. Nothing she says can justify the murder of 43 people whose only crime was to be invited to the wedding. May the Almighty have mercy on the women and children and may the perpetrator suffer for her crime.
It's all cuz of her husband, he must be a jerk that she decided to take revenge on him for leaving her and ruin his wedding party. Behind every disaster in this world, look for a man.
Yes. Women are never capable of committing murder. And even when they physically appear to be doing so, they'd usually be hypnotized by evil men.
2 comments out of 8; 1 naive, 1 sexist. 3 cheers for women's lib.
Jazz, aha, exactly. Bravo. I like submissive men.
@ anon 09:29: isnt 'women's lib' sexist in its own right?
