Last night there was another fire in Satwa. Last week there was one which I saw from the balcony of the building where I was, Last night I saw another one from the parking. Last week there were sirens, last night there was silence.
Probably caused by pulling bulidings down without turning the gas off first.
I really hate what they are doing to Satwa. One of the few places with soul in Dubai. This could never happen in a country with a proper planning policy.
btw keefie dubai has excellent planning and i know this from the many ppl i know in dubai municipality.. however the greed for money is stronger than any planning you see....
But I don't think DM have any authority over Nakheel projects - cerainly when I lived in The Gardens and worked at Media City, both Nakheel-owned, you never saw any DM involvement. The 5% 'Municipality Tax' was paid to Nakheel, not DM.

There was a fire in my building in Barsha, no alarm went off in the building (our floor anyway) no fire sirens outside, nothing.
Only way we knew was someone from civil defense went from door to door knocking and ringing the door bells.
Rather scary.
are u safe al mulhama?

DM is great, so is their planning. They always pick up the phone, and parking is easily available.
Thank you Buj, I am safe, but sad... over many things in the city...
