Would be interested to hear people's opinions about the addition of an 'Emirati blogs' blogroll. It is very disappointing to only be able to name a handful of blogs written by locals that cover local news/politics/opinion and the list would be open to both English and Arabic language blogs. Hopefully it might provide an easier way for local bloggers to stand out and get some readers.

Absolutely -
I thought there already were listed. Did you mean list them separately?
I meant they were already listed. Its late - thats my excuse
Mita: I mean list them separately
Sure
No-brainer.
BTW Sam,
Why are there 'UAE' blogs and 'General' blogs?
Sure why not.. it's not like they are abit loud or rose-y... or anything like that :)
Dubai Jazz:
Because some people blog just about life in general and some blog about political/social/etc issues regarding the UAE which is usually I'd say what gets discussed on this blog.
ABIT:
"Having ABOUT the UAE blogs separately is fine, to say oh, these are Emarati blogs, no.
Plus, how could you PROVE it? You're gonna ask for people's family books? For all you know I'm a Lebanese guy."
I think it is something that might help get a few more Emirati bloggers to start blogging around this side of the internet; no I can't prove if someone is local--But it really saddens me that you happen to be one of the very few local bloggers that I can name when someone asks.
Umm....Samurai Sam... I want to be added to the blogroll (Emirati or otherwise) but have not been added despite emailing you ages ago :(
Ghost Writer: Sorry I have lost track of your email, adding your blog now.
