wow - a pantomime that's a cross between the story The Emperor's New Clothes and the metaphor sticking one's head in the sand

Or as Sgt. Schultz in Hogan's Heroes was so fond of saying: I know nuzzink!

Hang on a minute. If they didn't take place place they didn't take place. Right? But saying they weren't linked to the JV says they did take place but it wasn't our fault.

So which was it? It didn't take place, or it did take place but wasn't our fault?

seabee,

What we conclude from the imprecise Besix statement: You can safely assume from the statement that the disturbance did take place, that it did involve laborers that work on a Besix worksite, and, probably, that that worksite is the Burj Dubai Tower or the larger project of which the Burj Dubai is a part.

At least that's what I figure from this denial of responsibility.

The statement was at least as puzzling in its reference to "international press" to the exclusion of the local press. Yet as far as I have seen the international press was rehashing what was in local papers. Why refer only to the international press?
