What do you think of BD's
Word a Day (in the UAE)? Personally, I like it. It educates and is to the point. However, a lurker
doesn't like it. What's the general opinion of the community? I'd bet it is more in the positive than the negative, if I was a betting man. But I don't bet. It's haram, you know. Haram - that's my word of the day.

Actually its an interesting read.
Besides I dont think it is right to criticise someones blog saying it is boring because you are not forced to read it anyways. Its not like you paid for a magazine only to find it is worthless.
And as for the invitations to visit individual blogs, as grapeshisha said, weekly invites maybe a better way to do it- but in no ways mandatory.
I like it, there were some statistics there I did not know.
I've never seen it...
But I think I should probably take a look now...
:)
There are plenty of crappy blogs out there and I don't think one should have to be diplomatic if they do not desire to. However, I do think that criticism should be constructive and directed at the owner, rather than holding it up for general humiliation.
For the record, I like BD's work. But a compendium once a week would be sufficient, methinks.
They're a great read and I have it directly on my RSS aggregator. However, I do understand where that anonymous poster is coming from as there have been a few posts with quizzes at the end, which does come across as a bit condescending. Despite that Word A Day is one of my favorite blogs, and I hope BD continues to provide his insight into life in the UAE.
