Just so it is clear, I'm not endorsing this view of Islamic culture. But if this is anything close to accurate, then the banning only makes more sense. For that matter, I wonder if the makers didn't know that the movie would be banned and were just hoping for some extra publicity.

That said, the practical viability of a ban of this sort is uncertain, to say the least. The elusive Chinese girl who shows up once a month in every apartment building will no doubt fish the disc out of her bag in a few weeks.
It should be banned for no other reason than sheer awfulness. I could barely make it through the trailer. "The stupid, it burns!"
God I wish I lived in country that banned this movie.
Haha I'm glad it's banned because that means I won't have to hear about dumb people with bad taste in movies and TV keep going on and on about it when I'm back home soon.
Not that it makes me want to reconsider my decision not to watch such junk, but simply because it gives me a big headache and kills a few brain cells I'm sure.
If you'd care to elaborate on this, In what way is anti-muslims?
The reviews have been bad enough to keep me away but I don't want my government deciding for me. I'd rather think for myself.

I haven't seen the movie, only a couple of reviews, so I have no first hand knowledge of the contents of the movie (if you notice, the "anti-Islamic" is part of the review quote, not my words). But this review (warning: May contain strong language and major spoilers) gives more details. I leave it to the reader to determine what the movie is.
