uaetorture

Warning: this post links to websites which display violence.

along similar lines as sites like uaeprison.com, www.uaetorture.com is probably going to be blocked in the next 15 minutes or so.

From the site:
Sheikh Issa takes pleasure in torturing those who disagree with him. Sheikh Issa videotapes the torture sessions so he can enjoy watching them later. Sheikh Issa has been assisted in his torture sessions by the Abu Dhabi police. Issa has tortured people for up to forty five minutes at a time. This torture has included cattle prods, boards with nails, cigarette lighters, lighter fluid, and m-16s. At least three video tapes showing torture performed at the hands of Sheikh Issa, which were formerly in the possession of Sheikh Issa, are now in the United States. These videos, or clips of these videos, will periodically be released on this website in an effort to raise awareness about Sheikh Issa and the U.A.E., and the fact that his ruling brothers allow him to continue feeding his sickness by torturing the innocent and the helpless for his own pleasure.

^^ You don't know me weirdo ! I think anyone with rational thinking should would a clear view about this but I'd rather not talk about it here.

Samuraisam, I think you want this blog to get blocked? :D

Proud Emirati said...

btw, just a correction, the supposedly Abu Dhabi Policeman looks like a south asian security guy to me.

If the video got out, it got out for a reason.

I can think of two.

My Hat tip goes to;

The dude who put it up on Youtube.

The dude who put it up here for us to see & read.

Don’t matter to me now if they block it for I’ve seen what I want to see!

Bravissimo!

Holy cow... that was so disturbing.. did you hear all the foul language :p

No but seriously, that is awful and something needs to be done about this.. country is above individuals even if they are sheiks. You shouldn't allow something like this to tarnish UAE's image!

Proud Emirati said...

oh Ali, all the things happening in the UAE only happen because individuals are indeed above the country !

rosh said...

^ ...is that a good thing? your thoughts?

Proud Emirati said...

^^ of course not, am only saying that those things come in packages ....

I have seen the entire 45 minute video. It is sick.

Anonymous said...

You should see the entire 45 minute video. The guy lived, but barely and with massive brain damage.

And, by the way, that is the police. There are two other videos as well.

Abd Al Haleem Hafez is singing in the background.

Qari'at Al Finjan: the fortune teller. How apt.

bad bad bad bad

May God curse the evil people who participated in this torture.

Though of note is that "sheikh Isa" is not seen on the video, so pinpointing him in accusation for those of us who don't know anything beyond the website/video seems a little too hurried for me.

It is sickening. The worst thing about is the lack of balls on the part of everyone else in the UAE. All the Sheikhs and locals have no balls to stop this kind of barbaric behavior.

I wounder what Sheikh Zayed would have done.

At the end of the day, I agree with the video. Be very careful before trying to do business in the UAE. The law means nothing here.

What do you mean he is not seen on the video? He is the main guy in the video. This is him:

http://www.abudhabichess.com/clubhistory.htm

The only thing sadder than this are apologetic people. If I were Al Nahyan family, I would have him 'mysteriously' die in an accident and get it over with, if going public with his prosecution doesn't go over too well with 'cultural' bullshit.

Michelle Nickelson said...

I agree, the video is disturbing. However, you cannot paint the entire Al Nahyan family, by the actions of a few of them.

I have had business dealings with some of these guys and YES, they are tough businessmen, but I would say no better or worse than anyone else, either offshore or in US.

It may seem to take longer, but eventually things catch up to them. Look what happened to Sh. Falah.

Hey, wait a minute Sheikha M!

I have read this label and all its comments and nowhere do I find anybody making a blanket accusation against the Al-Nahyan Family. All the comments here address this particular person and his inhuman actions against a fellow human being. These, I'm sure were done after viewing and reading everything in this label's hyperlink.

That apart, I for one would never lay a blanket accusation against a whole family - yet at the same time I would vehemently endorse that it is a family's duty to rein in (for lack of a better term in this instance) a rebel without a cause.

Bear with me, as I tell you and the readers here the first reactive line I heard post-viewing of this video from a Moslem colleague at work.

'The barbarism is written all over this man's face'.

Not exactly an earth-shattering line but it shook me, not as much as the tremor at the same time but close. Now, I don't know what to make of his statement but I went back and took another look at the whole hyperlink, read the articles, and viewed the pictures. To a certain extent, it's terrifying 'the barbarism / the face / the look' and not what have you.

Let me tell you that I do not view people by what's written on their faces but this Man's actions and the way he felt that he was above the law for he was the law - that's just not right. Now the thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to define between right & wrong and on most occasions use the God embedded in our conscience from wandering off the reservation.

Last but not the least, I mean no disrespect with this litany of my comment and hope you consider for what it's worth.

You watch your back.

^^ In university I interacted with a Sheikh from Al Nahyan and I can safely say that he was so respectful, humble and friendly so yea, its stupid for some to generalize about them, like the stupid guy on youtube who was saying that 95% of the UAE shiekhs are like that.

The video is about one Sheikh. The problem is that the Crown Prince, hos brother, knows about the video and the torture but did nothing at all about it.

Anonymous said...

The video obviously shows one Sheikh and is a reflection upon him (and his influence over the police). The problem with his family is that his brother, The Crown Prince, was provided the video and has done absolutely nothing about it.

website blocked...hahahaha

Anonymous said...

so now the website has been removed..end of story

rosh said...

jeez ... the odds!

Anonymous said...

that will not be the end of the story. You have to really wonder about a gov't that will block a website that speaks truth. this won't be the end of this. Sheik Issa will burn in hell, as well as his family.

Anonymous said...

The "Story" has just started. Who gives a crap if the video is blocked in the U.A.E. The video is intended for those in the west who have been tricked into thinking the U.A.E. is a safe place to do business. The video will be sent to Brad Pitt, Tiger Woods, and Roger Federer, to name a few. The truth will not be extinguished.

secretdubai said...

Not removed - and perfectly viewable if you have a VPN or are outside the UAE.

It's hardly targeting people who are already in the UAE anyway. It's targeting those that are outside the UAE thinking of coming here: they can still read it.

If anyone wants to see what they're missing, just email me (my username here at Gmail) and I'll send you a pdf version. NB: the site is nothing to do with me, I don't know who set it up, but I am able to view it.

Anonymous said...

Most likely they are lies hatched by Abu Dhabi's enemies. That said lets assume the video was correct, do we know the full story? Maybe the 'victim' was a fraud who deserved to be tortured?
We should not comment before knowing the full story...

secretdubai said...

Maybe the 'victim' was a fraud who deserved to be tortured?

Er - yeah. Because the idea that it would somehow be OK for an alleged fraudster to be tortured at night in the middle of the desert rather than undergoing fair and transparent judicial process is just so completely reassuring and inviting to the average foreign investor.

update: Website blocked and video removed from youtube due to terms of use violations.

Anonymous said...

Stuff like this tends to be somewhat viral, I doubt it will be long before it the website has mirrors and the video is uploaded to multiple sources & youtube over and over again. Happens all the time.

Anonymous said...

Yes, the entire royal family is responsible, along with the police and the UAE citizens. Not speaking up against such crime makes you as good as the villain.

Stop trying to make excuses.

ColOman said...

why would anyone film himself doing that?

I have not seen the video but this seems like a blackmail attempt. Then again if I see the video, I might change my mind.

If it is true, the shiekh has bad judgment, just throw the man in jail and let him rot. Confiscate all his beloging and kick his family out of the country. That is more than enough.

why would you ever short change a sheikh..... you must stupid to rip him off........... oh well I dont the guy would ever such a thing again

Anonymous said...

coloman, the guy may have been stupid, but its not an excuse for torture, the civilized response is to take the guy to court........

Anonymous said...

Coloman's "point" also shows one thing......in many societies, people become programmed to accept bad practices in the status quo, no matter how bad they are, and to blame victims of various crimes by saying "they shouldnt have done that, etc."

For e.g. supporters of honor killings often blame the girl by saying "she was stupid to have had an affair, she had it coming",

Similarly, many rednecks in the Deep South cheered when the US bombed Iraq , saying "they had it coming, they were stupid to attack us...." (even though Iraq never attacked the US)

I used 2 examples from different regions to show that such distorted logic isnt a confine of any one area.......

Needless to say that criticism of the victim, as in this case, is a continuation of such logic......

Another form of distorted logic is saying "Oh, the US did worse in Guantanamo, whats the big deal"....
Previously "Palestine" and "Abu Ghraib" was the justification for everything, in other words, someone does a crime and then claims he is not as bad as the torturers in Country X ,and so its nothing....

Ok by the time I read this post, this website is blocked and apparently the only video on youtube is one with text and stills. If this is actually happening, it is disgusting. I feel... disturbed.

Another video showing the torture has been posted on www.uaetorture.com and also on www.abudhabi-torture.com
