Snowfall stuns Ras Al Khaimah residents

Temperature reached freezing point as snow covered a 5 km area in Ras Al Khaimah yesterday. It was the first snowfall of its kind ever in remembered history.
Most local newspapers have it on the front page. This is what the snow in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE looked like, as featured on the cover page of The National newspaper:

Looks lovely... I have been telling everyone since morning that it snowed in the UAE! I have spent one day in RAK and associating snow with that quiet, rocky desert is a strange thought.

Cool ... but if I'm not mistaken, this isn't the first time it's happened. I think it was in 2004 maybe when it snowed in RAK... although perhaps not at this magnitude...

Yes D, it rained in 2004, but it's the first time the place got 'carpeted' by snow.

I have seen snow in RAK 3 times.
The first was in 1984

Gulf news must think we have amnesia.
