Dubai 10 years from now?

Could this be how Dubai turns out 10 years from now?

"From boom town to ghost town

Lying just 20 miles south of Madrid, Sesena was designed as a major urbanisation for professionals who could not afford city prices.

But there are few signs of life at Sesena, now dubbed the Spanish ghost town.

What a silly post; Sesena is not the first ghost city and it’s not going to be the last. It would have sounded more relevant if you cared to tell us why you think Dubai might end up like Sesena?

dubai jazz, this is hardly a silly post. It is up to the readers to decide, as opposed to the poster giving an opinion. What's up with the overly harsh tone?

I doubt Dubai would turn into that.. perhaps some areas would. They said that about JBR, but it's picking up now and traffic is already starting to form.

Dubai still has a few more years left to its real estate boom before it slows down.

Looks a lot like Sharjah.

@the real nick

Sharjah is the complete opposite. It is way overcrowded with Indian expats and their families.

LE/DE, I apologize for the harsh tone, no malice toward anyone was intended whatsoever. While I understand that the idea that what's happening in Dubai is like a bubble, which will burst soon, is very popular one, I only ask for a reason, an explanation why the doom's day scenario is invetable.

Is that too much to ask for?

As Dubai Jazz calms down we commend you for this post!

All is does is ask the question and if money was ordered to be cleaned up in the UAE, oil dropped and gas wasn't the next alternative then it could well be Dubai in 10 years...

BUT because of the examples we mentioned it won't be as the cash camel continues to be milked....

In 30 years time, perhaps.

dont under estimate the looming economic crisis..

dubai may yet discover the price of having a huge proportion of its inhabitants not feeling at home.. and not being citizens as they may possibly flee with their cash to their homelands if the economy takes a sharp downturn..

u never know.. u may end up with empty sky scrapers.. u wouldnt be the first place or the last..

white elephants can be found in many a developed country..
