I've been here for 4 years and as far as i can tell, Sax events are few and far between.

There's a guy who plays sax every night in the resident Filipino band at the Chikka Grill club, Marco Polo Hotel Deira. Only time I've seen a sax player in a band here.
Camille-- I have no idea whether he teaches sax (he teaches other stuff, so maybe). He'll be back in town next week -- I'll ask. Watch this space.

I checked with my colleague, and he said that there is a sax teacher at the Yamaha Music school at Wafi Mall. Yamaha is on the top floor, near the food court. (Go up into the 'old' Wafi bldg and up the main elevator.) I'm told he's pretty good.
