On a photo: Sulim and Ruslan Yamadayev holding a portrait of their brother Jabrail

Sulim Yamadayev known as a former commander of Chechen battalion Vostok was reportedly shot dead in an underground parking of JBR, Reem tower, where he resided for last 4 months.

Local and Russian news agencies have offered confusing if not mutually exceptive information. Family of the victim insists that Sulim Yamadayev is still alive and is in intensive care unit of one the Dubai hospitals. Other sources claim that he had been buried in Al Quos cemetery this Monday.

Reuters gives a brief account.

One more short article from finnish-russian community

Conflicting news in abundance, isn't it?

After Anna Politkovskaya & Alexander Litvinenko, seems like the tolls of the Chechen conflict has now reached Dubai!

I doubt though Russian intel had anything to do with this. And if they were, they did a really sloppy job and deserve their well-earned time-out in the Al-Wathba Slammer.

As for Ramzan Kadyrov, he's just a common two-bit thug-in-charge. The day Putin does not require his services, he too can join the list.

LOL. Nothing in the UAE happens without the govt knowing about it.

That's all I'm saying.

Yup, and they've arrested all the guilty - just like they did after the Wafi jewellery heist.

To Kyle.
Yes, indeed, news are very confusing.
But most disturbing is that this happened right before the desision to stop a 'special anti-terrorist campaign' in Chechnja.
Somewhere in a midst of a Caucasus conflict chechen rebel Sulim switched sides and became a one of the most popular commanders and a serious rival to present chechen president, Kadyrov.
My best guess is that federals leaked the information on his whereabouts to killers.

BTW, the owner of Phoenix aviation (sharjah) was killed 5 days ago. Eugen Hoprov, a partner in crime of infamous Victor But; both involved in selling arms and ammunition to Africa.

I wish we, Russians did not export crime to the outside world, only matrioshka and perestroika :)

ABT, regarding local government and their knowledge. In spite of public lashings and obstruction, local intelligence forces are pretty efficient. We hugely underestimate them. :)

Thats what I meant. You took my comment the whole other way. Actually the UAE intelligence is VERY efficient. So re-read my comment. NOTHING happens in the UAE without the govt's knowledge.
