“…Today is a day of celebration, a day of thanksgiving, a day of peace, a day of freedom, a day of joy and happiness. Today should also be a day of truth and fearlessness, a day of unity and sister/brotherhood? Well, it should! A concept of “unity” that is built on sincerity, respect, love and mutual understanding; a unity that is built on commitment. It is this unity that could bring about a just social change within society. Yet not only the basic respect for human rights as well as any form of inter-religious / inter-cultural dialogue still seems to be a major challenge of our time.

“O mankind! We created you from a single soul, male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may come to know one another. Truly, the most honored of you in Gods sight is the greatest of you in piety. God is All-Knowing, All-Aware. [49:13]”

Wishing you all (everyone!) a blessed Eid al-Fitr from Germany!

I can't believe no one commented on the fact that the stamp in the pic is from the USA.!!! Let me know when the UAE prints a "Merry Christmas" stamp. :)

Or better yet... "Jesus is Risen" to celebrate Easter.

Lol at the anon 22:12 without a name... the USA is (legally) a free country with freedom of religion as part of the constitution. The UAE however is a Muslim country and that's part of our constitution.

The UAE however does grant limited rights for all religions to practise their faith. The limitations are mainly on openly advocating any other religion.

Many countries have an official religion such as Italy, Greece, The Vatican, etc. and no one really complains why their governments do not support Muslims. However, such governments are generally very respective of all faiths including Islam, just like the UAE.
