As proven by the attached photograph, the RTA was rightly proud to pronounce SALIK the resounding and unequivocal success everybody who's anybody always knew it would be.
Myself I told you so.
You little nitpicking bloggers can put your usual nillywilly cynicism where the sun never shines!
seems you and nicky hit the jackspot (wrt to the gist of this post).
Only that you moved to Spain, where the slogan on our local TV for your resident country's tourism is "Smile, you are in Spain" - isn't that a copyright infringement of Shj's at-least-20-yr-old welcome msg?
lol keedie.....hmmm perhaps its time newer folks (not you keefie) hear of SHJ. Historically, it was one of the wealthiest towns in the region with a history of over 5000 yrs. Some/several of the true UAE tribes are from SHJ.
Back in the days (meaning 70's/early 80's, prior to the "boob job" as in DXB's construction explosion) SHJ was the place to be.
real nick, didn't you hear? they sacked matar al tayer and appointed bush as chairman of the RTa... all coz of the damned traffic.. seems bush was much more effective and much much cheaper :)

What a difference a day makes
Twenty-four little hours
Brought the sun and the flowers
Where there used to be rain
My yesterday was blue, dear
Today I'm a part of you, dear
My lonely nights are through, dear
Since you said you were mine
What a difference a day makes
There's a rainbow before me
Skies above can't be stormy
Since that moment of bliss, that thrilling kiss
It's heaven when you find romance on your menu
What a difference a day made
And the difference is you
@the real nick: 'nillywilly'?
*keefieboy, ain't it "willy-nilly"?

if you never shopped at FINE FAIR in sharjah then you have never shopped and you do not deserve to shop in the future!
Get em Rosh!
Right on BuJ! The ex-Fine Fair near the Quran Roundabout, to be precise eh!
:)
All said, there is "something" about SHJ....perhaps one shall find (sort of) in AUH....an intangible ... peculiar energy....very true to UAE.
