RTA studying phase 2 and 3 of Salik
"Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA , yesterday said the road toll system had been very successful in reducing traffic congestions and that the authority was studying the options regarding the implementation of Phase 2 and 3."
Is he having a laugh?
Mr. Al Tayer has obviously never travelled from Jebel Ali to Deira between the hours of 4pm to 10pm, and has probably never spent 2 whole hours trying to make an otherwise 20-minute commute.
Successful, my a**.

Yeah, and being delusional all the way to the bank while we sulk in a gridlock called jam!
Successful, my a**.
Atta Girl’, you rock for speaking what’s on your mind!
I think Al Tayer has been taking lessons from Britain's New Labour - if you say something often enough and loudly enough then a lot of people (ie those who don't think about stuff, ie nearly everybody) will believe you. Despite all the evidence to the contrary.
The man's a legend in his own PR.
lol RTA... i still remember the first salik launch where everyone nearly rejected it and the polls were about 75-81% NO towards salik until metro or something else was complete... they still wont listen! its just hilarious.
And they keep saying its not really for profit yet for cutting traffic...still massive traffic jams EVERYWHERE!
We can rant all we want but to them, it's just hot air blowing off the rear end...
They wouldn't listen then why should they listen now...
delusional? not them, they are laughing all the way to the bank...that's a fact...
To hope that they'll one day come to realize the fact that Salik despite being an imposing burden to the residents, had not proven itself to be an effective solution to traffic...
delusional? yes, we are.
Apologies, the username is highly inappropriate...
It was created a long time ago out of angst and frustration...
ex-get f**ked
