Why hasn't Google created a Flickr competitor? Picasa is clearly NOT an online photo sharing application. Picasa does not have any of the social networking (aka Web 2.0) features, of Flickr.
If someone doesn't want to yse a Yahoo-owned service, where do we turn? Flickr is great, but I refuse to give $$ to Yahoo to upgrade to a Pro account.
well.. try out http://www.yourep.com for free. 2GB storage, no transfer limit, hotlinking 500x500px versions of your images. Groups, galleries, notes, tags, star-rating your photos.. and a batch-upload function are available. And best of all: it doesnt belong yahoo or any other company.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I thought Picasa was just a piece of software with which you can edit and upload photos to various services?

http://www.photosite.com/
http://www.fotki.com/
