Why is it just "Macintosh News Reader", and not NetNewsWire, NewsFire, Vienna, Safari, etc? And what about RSSOwl (cross platform)? Well, I guess even Safari is cross platform these days ;-)
I use Google most of the time and I wish there was an offline reader that synced with it (anyone know of one?). But then Google has just added Gears anyway.
dxbluey: "basically it'll automatically download my usual online resources so I can view offline? or something?"
Precisely. it will periodically sync your online data, so that if you go offline, it'll still be available and _The Website will work as if you were online !_

Highly interesting post, totally relevant to the UAE.
I don't know what an I-pod is. But it might be connected to the I-mate, or MP3.
Can't respond to your interesting post, sorry mate. But hope you can draw your own conclusions from my response.
emirates mac, I knew I was missing out on a LOT of rss readers :P
imaginate: its not relevant to the UAE, but its relevant to our community. We _are_ a community, aren't we ?
P.S emirates mac, there's a Mac Dashboard Widget that's just called 'News Reader' - as per my colleague who uses Mac :P
so... Google has it so far...
Can someone explain what Google Gears will mean to the avergae bloke like me? Had a look at it online and it's all developer speak...

it's a nice idea for sure - but is this a huge bandwidth sapper - i.e. downloading from many websites, just incase I want to look at them offline...
Ok, completely off-topic! Blogger is acting a little funny these days. Today, it shows the Blog options/menus in Hindi :S How do I fix that?
err, this is turning into a tech support forum, but anyway:
MD: blogger uses the same preferences as your other google services (gmail, reader, the search engine).
So if you've used any of those services in hindi, make sure you go back to english (see the link at the end of the http://www.google.com page).
i*maginate: It may not be relevent to the UAE but it is relevent to blogging.
I use feedreader. It works pretty well.
I'm a Bloglines person. I like the fact I can log into it wherever I go in the world, whatever computer I use.
i'm unable to vote.. or for some reason my vote doesnt show.
Anyways.. I use the firefox bookmarks thing
