Chillout: First Middle East Ice Cafe Opens In Dubai Today
Chillout ice cafe opens today in Dubai's Times Square Mall. It's the first ice restaurant in the Middle East. Almost everything at the restaurant is sculpted out of ice. Diners will sit on ice benches or chairs, eat at ice tables, out of ice plates, drink from ice glasses served from a bar made of ice.
A Dh9 million (US $2.45 million) investment, the restaurant is Dubai-based Sharaf Group’s enterprise while technical inputs came from Canada-based Iceculture Inc, who are credited with building ice lounges around the world, informed a spokesperson for Sharaf Group.

who said its done for the first time in dubai?
Great idea, looks pretty cool...
But if the air-conditioning is on, I won't be going! It's already so cold in all the restaurants and malls!
those negative people, oh God.
saw it yest from the outside...lots of flashy lights & all...
anyway went to times square mall..it was empty..the staff was more than the crowd..& it was a thurs....damn
Wasn't the ice hotel featured in a James Bond movie?
It is not the first!!!!
...I am sure to go and check it out.
And its not about being original or not... no concept is ever original its whether you trump the original
There is also one in London, and no-one goes. There is some tourist traffic but not a huge amount.
And remember - the places in Stokholm and London are actual 'bars'
Basically - you can't spend more than 30 mins in these places, and why would you want to freeze your butt off to drink a mocktail.
Nick, Who said it's original?!
So what? it's in stockholm does this mean we shut it down?
No one said it is original but it is to THIS REGION whether you'd like to admit or NOT!
