This has been in my personal blog from earlier this month (http://mitasrambling.blogspot.com) but I thought I would share it with the community at large. In case you were unaware (not possible for the drivers here in UAE), your car's hazard lights play a very important role and have a myriad of uses.
Hazard lights allow you to:
- Park illegally ANYWHERE on a road
- Stop in the middle of the road to ask for directions
- Have a conversation with a friend you have not met in a long time
- Drive in foggy conditions at speeds above 120km on major highways
- Change lanes
- Drive on the hard shoulder in peak traffic
- Avoid putting money in the parking meter
Can any other driver think of any I might have missed?

- Allows young women to drive with 70 km/h on left lane of Business Bay Crossing while using her mobile phones.
How about alerting other road users that you've broken down?
Boring but a valid point, Grumpy Goat!
Yeah, what is it about Business Bay Bridge that lane discipline goes completely out the window? I mean, I know its never brilliant here but BB Bridge is just a disaster
business bay is long and winding and boring. i think changing lanes without indicating and springing surprises on unsuspecting drives adds just a touch of "zing" in life.
hazards help in signalling the other 'street racer' that the race is over......
to warn over speeding people by the slow drivers to slow down & brake hard or face crashing into them...........
very talented lights indeed.. :)
1. To indicate a radar coming up ahead.
2. Debris on road
Because they make an interesting ticking sound?
To subsitute as Christmas/Eid/Diwali decorations on the car?
