FIFTY THREE DEGREES!!

This is from my car display this afternoon...I wonder if the laborers on the gazillion construction sites were working in this heat!!

Isn’t there some sort of law stating that outdoor workers get the day off if the temperature hits above fifty degrees or something like that???

There's gotta be SOME law? It's impossible to work like that! And with the humidity too...!!!

did you have the feeling that your reading might be in error ?
you certainly don't calibrate your car's sensor with an international standard lab... do you ?

What'll the heatstroke figured be like on September *13th and the subsequent month? Compulsory fasting when it's still forty-something degrees and 80%+ humidity.

I've read the labour laws online and I can't find anything about stopping work at a certain temperature. I think that's a myth.

Even if it's true that they have to stop working at 50, since that would mean loss of money for big, powerful companies, do you really think that 50+ would be reported very often, even if it was actually over 50?

you are truly right that 53 degrees we are experiencing now... about the law yes there is but it is only implemented during the month of July and August...

and note this in any publication, newspaper, radio, TV here in Dubai no pne will tell the right temperature... why beacause they don't want to stop all construction works...

Yes.. I so very clearly remember that day when I was in Bur Dubai trying to grab a cab to make it to a meeting with a billionare and after waiting for over half an hour on the actual tar road not the pavement my shoes felt as if I stepped on some chewing gum only to find out that my shoes were disintgruiting because of the heat....

to add insult to the injury once the cab arrived an annoying rude indian woman had before that by 5 minutes just walked out of a building behind me and went and stood before me and I had walked and told her I been waiting for a cab before her (not walked more like slided).

Only for her to grab the coming cab and cause a fight between me and her and the cab driver then havign to wait for another agonizing 20 more minute for the cab idiot to screw off as he insisted on callign teh cops and he did for me using abusive language.

After than by 10 minutes I was in the safety of a cool cab and had to make it from 11 am to 11:30 pm with the most embaressing pair of shoes ever litteraly rags.

It was enjoyable though to tell people how hot the day was that my shoe melted and when they rolled their eyes to actually show them the real proof with just wide opened shocked mouths.....

I did meet mr billionare and no i havent benifited from that meeting YET
