See this article where a Republican Senator has introduced a new bill in Congress for approval. If passed, it could have far-reaching impact on Dubai's investments in the U.S.

Canuck - I can't reach that link, even through *alternative* methods. It's not Etishite blocking it, it's refusing to accept this IP address or something.

Is there any way you can link to a screenshot of it or email me a pdf or transcript or something? It sounds interesting.

Andy Rooney can be amusing even when he gets his facts wrong. There's no excuse for him getting the capital of the UAE wrong. But it's understandable, perhaps, that he does not understand that no native of Dubai would do his job for 1/4 of what he gets paid.

And what about the internal contradiction in his essay? He points out the DPW is loaded with Americans running the business, and even suggests those Americans may be using Dubai's money for their own purposes. But then he turns around and does a riff on outsourcing and complains Americans don't do anything for themselves any more.

Maybe it's just that the world economy is a lot more integrated than it was when Andy was a youngster and the Smoot-Hawley Tariff was in place. American are still doing things, they're just more likely to be doing them for non-Americans. And the reverse. It's called trade, Andy.
