A forum to unite great UAE web diarists
"DUBAI -- U.S. oil services giant Halliburton Co. will shift its corporate headquarters from Houston to Dubai, Chief Executive Dave Lesar said Sunday."
Quick - let's move our IP offshore to a sharia law tax-free haven before our protector Bush gets out of office!I guess that it's closer to their main income source of Iraq.Better article here - you don't have to log-in to see it.
NZM: are you making a joke? You sound as uninformed as the Kossers. Sharia law in Dubai? In corporate matters? Really? And if you actually believe that Iraq is Halliburton's main income source, you are deluded. Their Iraq earnings come mostly from their subsiduary, KBR, which is being spun off as a separate company, largely because it generates so much negative press for Halliburton.
Slagothor: In future, please debate the topic and desist with the name-calling or any reference to what a person may or may not be. It's bad form and bad manners.Yes, I was joking - hence the ! at the end of my first sentence. And a rose by any other name is a rose. Regardless of what the company is called in Iraq, it's still a subsidiary of Halliburton. As they now help to rebuild Iraq, you can expect their earnings to increase.
uewrnNZM: if you're going to be sarcastic, you need more than an exclamation mark to signify your intent.BTW, the word "Kosser" is a common way of describing people who post at the Daily Kos blog, which is where the original post links to. So, please, salve your ego, I didn't call you a nasty name.
yuk!!! just perfect... man this is disgusting.. mind you all the info i have about this company is from Moore's F911 movie... still quite disturbing.
Slagothor: I was actually talking about the "deluded" comment. I knew what Kossers meant. As for my ego, it would take a lot more than a comment from you to damage it, I can assure you!
