According to The New York Times

One Day, That Economy Ticket May Buy You a Place to Stand

How many passengers can be squeezed into economy class?

Interesting must read, as usual the rich get more comfort and the poor get more suffering

Haven't you heard the saying:

You pay for what you get, and then you pay some more.

You have a choice. Pay more get, get more. Private airlines aren't running charities. Public airlines aren't competent - and don't seem to have "to each according to his or her need" as a goal anyway.

Why don't they go the way of BA..remember they saved a million pounds or so by eliminating one olive..Go the way of Air Arabia, bring your own food, save money... Its way better than letting a fat ogre arm wrestle with you the entire journey because the seat was small.

This must be Arab-style poor - those who can only afford an economy class plane ticket.

Believe it or not, those who can afford any type of plane ticket are not poor by global standards, or probably most national standards.
