Emirates Airlines is a sponsor of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. The deal was signed by the airline's chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al-Maktoum, and FIFA President Joseph Blatter. Emirates Airlines expects to double in size by the end of its FIFA deal in eight years time.

Has Emirates Airline paid to advertise its own brand or paid to advertise for FIFA???

Shouldn't FIFA be displaying the Emirates logo everywhere...

Well, Emaraty ... I think this is what will happen in all the coming FIFA competitions. I would expect to see Emirates Airlines logo everywhere in the football fields and on TV commercials between half times. This is the least of course ... Billions of people are expected to watch this year's World Cup ... by the end of this competition everybody will remember the name of this airline! :)

in other words, all viewers will be Hyponotized.

I guess you can say that ... this is what advertising is all about, am I write? Sometimes to convince you to buy something you don't need .... anyway ... I don't think Emirates Airlines would through $195 million with no guaranteed great benefit in return.

Personally it would be very nice to see Emirates Airlines commercials and logos everywhere in FIFA stadiums ... but not the ones that shows Emirates Airlines serving beer and wine!

Fahad - but not the ones that shows Emirates Airlines serving beer and wine! - Emirates needs to show that these items are available, given that most of the world still thinks the UAE is in Saudi Arabia. You might not like it personally, but it is one of the major selling points for the tourist industry.

Keefieboy .... so you are saying the end justifies the means like Machiavelli? I don't believe in that at all ... we are only stepping towards our failure if we continued heading this road of compramising our prenciples ....
