A forum to unite great UAE web diarists
Some mistake, surely!
Flickr too! Amazing! Watch out for low flying pigs!
OMG...they must be feeling sick or something! I won't be surprised if the sites get blocked, again...soon. Can't help feeling pessimistic. It's Etisalat we're talking about.
trailingspouse: Flickr isn't loading :S
must be one of those ramadan one-day special offers!
Whoops, you're right. In my excitement I typed in flikr.com - not the same thing. Ah well . . .
w00terr... does this mean that I can start posting nudie pix of myself on myspace ? :p
90 % of the shiny new unblocked links are from samuraisams list of Bad sites.Hmmm conspiracy theory time, Sam turns up in SandLand and Etisalad (TM) unblocks sites.OMG!!1! sam is Etisalad
YAY!!Thank God! Thank God! Thank God!
loll...omg...this is soooo not happening. gosh, but where's flickr :(
awnah..this is crazy! XDthanks for sharing all the other unblocked sites sam!
Great ! :)I wonder if our emails to Etisalat had an effect, or was it just the bad publicity ;)
Isn't it ridiculous folks - we get excited about being able to access harmless sites the rest of the world has access to all the time!
Awesome.Did they sign the Magna Carta yet?
this has happened b4..they block sites n then unblock in a while...maybe at first glance they just block it..and then depending on the response they go through it and unblock it.
As much as I want to be cynical...this is great! Even if it's only a small step on the road to enlightenment, let's applaud them for the effort.
this is a proper april fools joke isnt it :P im confused!!!Flikr????/ lol
i'm going to assume all that bad publicity was starting to sting a bit.
Or maybe "DU" is due to arrive shortly in a city near you, and EggySalad wants to be seen to compete?
That's very good news!
Definitely, its DU that has helped. I've also heard of rumours that they no longer block landline bill defaulters.
The only sucky thing is that you cant join myspace. When you click "sign up",the blocked page thingamabob comes up.
My friends in the US tell me Flickr isn't down (as the TCP_Error) suggests. I wonder if it's some new form of blocking... Skype.com shows me a TCP_Error too rather than the usual blocked pages.I do find it strange that these are unblocked. Personally I'm rooting for vox.com to be unblocked.
Thank You Etisalat for this Ramadan Gift. God Bless You :-)Sam, we muslims believe guests are a blessing from God. Your visit to UAE has indeed been a blessing for the residents :-)
Perhaps co-incidentally, today is Etisalat's 30th anniversary.
awww so it's 30 years of monopoly already.
