I don't know, but the fact that he is on a building site without hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, and in a dish dash serves nicely to illustrate that despite their best efforts to flog their reputation in the west, the Dubai developers are still several decades away from being taken seriously.
@ tim newman: You are so quick to point out the flaws in the picture. Ever heard of PR? Publicity Stunts? Remember George Bush's crazy jet landing with his fake uniform etc? PUBLICITY dear. And incase you didn't realise, hardhats and gadras(arab head gear) don't exactly gel.
sex and dubai, save your breath.. timmy here has a bad taste in his mouth and a big chip on his shoulder.. an obvious bias against everything Dubai and anything Arab.
He is the British version of balushi. A hater. Ain't no love there..
And yeah, standing on the 93rd floor with a hard hate will definitely save my life should the wind blow me over the edge, right?
Kind of a cool picture I thought, although Tim's comment has given me a rather different view of it. I don't know if he was doing it specially to pose for National Geographic, but one would rather prefer him to be wearing safety gear.

It's not Sheikh Mo, no.
Think a little more along the lines of Donald Trump... (though it's not him either, of course!)

It's some dude.
should we care?really?
Maybe its him
But if asked to think on the lines of Donald trump..I'd say Mohd Ali Alabar?

I like this picture.. I've been staring at it.
Harsha
Perhaps you should go and stare at a pic of Mohd Al Abbar for a while, then you might realise something.
Sex & Dubai -- publicity stunt or no, it is MADNESS to be up there without protective gear, and I don't think this stunt would be permitted elsewhere.
Quick, someone call 911 it's a jumper
I can't even see the picture but I'm guessing Terrence Howard
or Richard Branson
he's lucky its not a windy day [note:his clothes are not flying all over the place]...
nice view though...
i must admit that seeing people stand so close to the edge makes my feet tingle..
That's Mohd Ali Alabbar CEO of Emaar. ;)
But Harsha beat me to it!

Idiot.
Harsha yes - you win the prize!

Being there.. yes needs safety gear. As for the picture, If he did wear it. It would look like another everyday pic.
it's superman! ready to fly from 1 site to another in this craney town!
looking closer , it seems to be 2 people ,not 1. is that right?
seasons greetings 2 all!
hey people.. you do not need safety gear if there is no work being done on site. The pic might be taken during a public holiday, say Dec 2nd/
