On Behalf Of The Good Americans To The People Of The UAE
The following email I have received from (Bonnie Lackey) had touched me deep inside. It touched me so much because I felt the truth in every word spoken. The reason I'm publishing her email to me is because Ms. Lackey asked me to spread her message on behalf of the good Americans to the people of the United Arab Emirates .... Read her letter carefully to see what I mean ......

Why post the whole thing? Put it somewhere else, a piece of it here, and link to the entire text.
Yea, why post the whole thing, and who is this "Bonnie Lackey" speaking "on behalf" of the "good americans"?
I hope "Bonnie" likes getting spam since her email is posted like that
As an American, find her letter to be one reason why people think bad of Americans. I am sorry why I do not believe in Bush, and all he has done wrong, she just takes it too far. She makes it seem like she is the only "Good" American, in the US. I am sorry but she does not speak for me, and I think I am a good American. :-)
Sorry guys ...... I have added a link instead of posting the whole letter ..
This administration is the worst, the most corrupt, uncaring, vicious, manipulating that I have ever seen in my 55 years.
yada, yada, yada... Was she discussing the position of Americans vis-a-vis the UAE or writing a treatise on American politics?
I agree with other posters. This doesn't speak for me as an American and it is rather like spam.
I'm afraid I got bored and couldn't read through more than 2 thirds of it. She went on and on, and really didn't give any resources to the 'facts' she was sharing that wasn't in her own words, 'released in the American media, or to the public'. I think her point is probably a valid one (I did read a bit of the end where she talked about American fear), but her way of expressing it or trying to explain it went too deep. I also hate the Bush administration, but a letter like that I’m afraid does more injustice than justice in my opinion.
What exactly is she apologizing for? For Bush's behavior in the Dubai ports affair, or for her behavior? It's folks like her that can't distinguish between good and evil. It's folks like her that opposed the ports deal without grounds. It's folks like her that hold groundless fears of the other yet she wants to play the victim who blames her fears on someone else.
I'm not touched. She might be.
Personally I found what she said very believable. It is just a reflection to what I hear and read from many people here in the US who don't have media freedom and access to US TV stations and radio to reach out.
I was hoping somebody will comment on certain points of her letter ... not on her. I was hopping someone would say something like, "she is wrong in this point because ...". Guys, the way you are currently reacting towards her letter only supports her words and theories. If I was a visitor and I read this letter and your responses, I would say "she might be telling the truth".
What are you saying Fahad--that we are part of the conspiracy? Her letter reads like those of conspiracy theorists who always believe there are sinister forces controlling things. The responses above are more or less pointing out that her letter came across as a bit of tirade which isn't worth trying to respond to. Sure there are a lot of people who generally disagree with Bush, including myself. But over half the people in America who bothered to vote in the last election voted for the guy. So, in that sense, like it or not, Bush represents what a lot of Americans believe in.
I'm certain there were some things in her letter that people who posted here would agree with. But she just went on and on and had very little to say about what I mistakingly thought would be the focus of the letter--American sentiments about the UAE.
Just to add one more thing. People do have media freedom in the US. Just because a media outlet like, say Fox News, comes across as biased, it doesn't mean that there are no contrary views. Just look at the popular late night TV hosts who continually satire people in the government and US activities. Just because you have a very vocal Christian right community in the US doesn't mean there aren't a whole lot of people who are voicing different views. When, for example, have you seen a blog or any other website in the US blocked. NPR (national public radio) presents contrarian views on a number of issues.
Thank you bd for your response. Of course I did not think or mean in anyway to say that you guys are part of the conspiracy. I just wanted to have some reasonable responses ...
I appreciate your response and of course no hard feelings ... I hope :)
No offense taken. As long as people speak up and stay on topic, the forum benefits.
