CREATIVE ADVERTISING IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Consider this for a change “There is No Box.”

thank your lucky stars.. i loathe the incessant flooding i suffer from advertising here in telaviv..

i mean for goodness' sake - everytime i fly in and out.. do i have to "admire" the nokia logo on the grass right by the travelators in the airport?

In all fairness this market has still to evolve and reach that saturated point for clients to demand more from their respective agencies.

The answer is as much, maybe more, the fault of the clients than the agencies.

The standard is very very low here, but it's hardly the centre of the creative world and doesn't attract the best people, generally speaking. And that applies to clients as much as agencies.

- true that, it's all glossy and squeaky clean, with little or no creative substance across DXB.

But why is that, I wonder? DXB has been promoting itself as the world class shopping "city" and with all sortsa malls springing up - DXB's become a huge mall in itself. So why not absolute creative advertising? I can see the worlds best Ad agencies exist in the UAE.
