You have to watch this video.

The fallout from Bill Clinton's interview on Fox News has been huge, but I haven't seen anything as remarkable as the response by Keith Olbermann on MSNBC TV during his Countdown programme.

In the 'Special Comment' segment he really lets go at Fox and BushW.

"...a past President, bullied and sandbagged by a monkey posing as a newscaster, finally lashed back."

"The nation's freedoms are under assault by an administration whose policies can do as much damage as Al Qaeda."

"The nation's marketplace of ideas is being poisoned by a propaganda company so blatant that Tokyo Rose would have quit."

It really is a remarkable attack.

Wow! We sometimes forget how many Americans DON'T agree with George W.

I agree with you completely keefie, it is amazing how many mistatements, errors and lies that Mr. Olbermann crammed into this short piece.

Absolutely, Fox News does have a right wing slant. But calling Chris Wallace, a journalist of more than forty years experience, winner of three emmy awards and a Peabody award a "monkey posing as a newscaster", especially when you yourself are a washed up Sportcenter anchor on a show that nobody watches is way over the line.

For that matter, I can't remember ever hearing someone on Fox News Sunday, Mr. Wallace's program, calling someone a monkey as if that were some balanced, intelligent comment.

And last, Mr. Olbermann, who claims that he is so terrified of his nation's freedoms being under assault by this administration, is ironically suggesting that some questions are off-limits for Mr. Clinton - but of course there is absolutely no double standard here.

Sorry, Brn, you don't agree with me at all.

yeah, I figured that and was kidding about that part.

You really have to admire Mr. Olbermann's courage to continue broadcasting from his multimillion dollar studio and enjoying his huge paycheck, what with the minions of the Bush administration randomly locking up those who disagree with the president or Fox News.

Seabee, in case you hadn't noticed, this is the "UAE COMMUNITY BLOG".....we don't want any US politics in here, so please stop posting anything to do with other countries and/or cultures. Thank you.

Ally: just as a matter of basic netiquette - Seabee is a member, you aren't (though you are willing to email me and I can send you an invite).

Telling people what "we" do and don't want is kind of presumptive.

I agree that this isn't directly related to the UAE, but there have been quite a few well-received, much-commented on posts about US attitudes to terror/the Middle East, such as the Galloway episode. For as long as people are interesting in talking about it, I think it's a fair subject.

ally, welcome to our community. I was unaware, but I take it you're the new moderator of the site?

Thank you for the advice on what we should and shouldn't post and what we do and don't want to read.

Just one question - I wonder whether you've left the same comment on all the other posts not directly related to the UAE - or is it just the content of Olbermann's piece you object to?
