Unbelievable.

Yes, I find it unbelievable too considering I indirectly have some friends who were put in jail for several months because hashish was found in their blood stream, despite evidence they weren't in the country at the time (or at least they possibly didn't smoke it in the UAE) and despite there being no physical hashish in their possession, they were still jailed, now some producer comes along, with physical drugs in his possession, and they let him go.

The cynical half of me was expecting that.. I was pretty surprised he got sentenced to 4 years...

I was pretty 'relieved' when I heard about the pardon.... if you know what I mean ;) ;)

I wonder if he'll release a tribute CD to Dubai or Da Boss who let him go ? :)

Or _maybe_ he'll shoot videos in Dubai, or open a recording studio here... in Praise of The Kingdom.

Or wait ! I do believe we'll hear a talented local singer has relased a CD of cross-cultural arab-western in association with DDDD (Dallas Da Drug Dawg).

Pardon the typos:

*talented
*arab-western music

Gulf News today reported that the Dubai police were full of praise about this guy--saying how nice and humble he was. Is he really a rapper! But when I think of the kind of young local and other Arab guys who work in security, there seems to be a possibly misplaced respect and enchantment with rap culture. Of course, the police aren't the ones who decide when to release people. I suppose the rapper had good (and expensive) legal consul who counselled him will. Good for him.

Well, they'll stone ya when you're trying to be so good,
They'll stone ya just a-like they said they would.
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to go home.
Then they'll stone ya when you're there all alone.
But I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.

Well, they'll stone ya when you're walkin' 'long the street.
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to keep your seat.
They'll stone ya when you're walkin' on the floor.
They'll stone ya when you're walkin' to the door.
But I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.

They'll stone ya when you're at the breakfast table.
They'll stone ya when you are young and able.
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to make a buck.
They'll stone ya and then they'll say, "good luck."
Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.

Well, they'll stone you and say that it's the end.
Then they'll stone you and then they'll come back again.
They'll stone you when you're riding in your car.
They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar.
Yes, but I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.

Well, they'll stone you when you walk all alone.
They'll stone you when you are walking home.
They'll stone you and then say you are brave.
They'll stone you when you are set down in your grave.
But I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.
